Downtown debuting 'Snowman Lane'

There’s a new addition to downtown Sioux Falls this holiday season.

Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. organized “Snowman Lane,” featuring 25 decorated snowmen with festive holiday lighting, courtesy of Nyberg’s Ace, in the Federal Plaza at 12th Street and Phillips Avenue.

The project is a partnership with Kids Inc. Schoeneman's Building Materials Center provided lumber and other materials.

Kids Inc. is a division of the curriculum services department of the Sioux Falls School District that provides after-school enrichment at the district’s elementary schools.

"At JFK, we have been enjoying watching our children carefully paint our snowman," said Jodi Miller, Kids Inc. program manager. "The older children have expressed their artistic sides by taking over a majority of our snowman. Our youngest children are excited to add their thumbprints all around for snow."

Snowman Lane will be displayed for free public viewing Nov. 27 through Dec. 30.
